Take a good look at the expression on former Congressman – Tom Tancredo’s face.  This is the expression of a politician that does not want to respond to a difficult issue raised by a fully functional – Eagle County independent media.

Background – Tom Tancredo is Colorado’s Constitution Party candidate for the Colorado Governor’s race this November.  Dan Maes is the Colorado GOP candidate and John Hickenlooper is the Democrat candidate.

Dateline – Saturday, August 14^th – Eagle County Building.  Tancredo showed up in Eagle County for his first public appearance since the results of Colorado’s primary were completed.

Tancredo was addressing local Dr. Michael Schneider’s  – Vail Valley 9.12 Project – a local group dedicated to promoting a smaller, more conservative, fiscally responsible government.

The #1 Issue.  Every experienced Politico knows that Tancredo’s candidacy for Colorado Governor will split the Conservative/GOP vote – handing the Governor’s office to Hickenlooper.

If the Colorado GOP candidate (Maes) is to have any chance in November – Tancredo must drop out of the race.  The brief YouTube video that was acquired by the ECT from last Saturday (below) – shows that Tancredo has little interest in dropping out of the race.  Why?

Turns out Tancredo is an experienced 5 term Colorado Congressman to the U.S. House of Representatives – and is very much aware of what his Constitution Party candidacy will do.  Then why do it Tom?

The best explanation the ECT can come up with is that Tom Tancredo is nothing more than a highly polished version of Eagle County’s ‘ye old publisher’…

Interestingly, Tancredo admitted he has changed his ‘principled position’ on issues several times in the last year, yet insisted that everyone believe what he had to say last Saturday.  This guy makes John Kerry look like a principled candidate, with or without the Flip-flops.  Outside of wanting to stay in the Colorado Governors race and talk ad nauseam about Federal  immigration policy, the ECT couldn’t determine what Tancredo actually stood for – outside of promoting – Tom Tancredo.

The evidence?  Enjoy our brief video of Eagle County’s independent media – holding this politicians feet to the fire – on the issue.  Watch the expression change on Tancredo’s face – when he was unable to deflect/change a tough issue brought by the County’s independent media.  The ‘him’ Tancredo references in the video is Dan Maes.

 The local newspaper media could learn a lot from watching the beginnig of this video.
