The Elk in Edwards?
A small group of concerned Eagle County citizens has been quietly working to set aside ~80 Acers in Edwards (above the Homestead neighborhood).
Their goal is to set aside the 80 Acers for the Elk that winter in Edwards (above Homestead) under Colorado’s Habitat Protection Program (Click Here). This is for HPP 2012 funding and beyond.
You won’t read about this effort in our Daily Fishwrap – because the Fishwrap’s all consuming addiction to only writing/glorifying our County’s wasteful million dollar open space purchases.
At last count these conservation minded folks have amassed ~250 petition signatures (Click Here) in support of their ‘save the Elk habitat’ just above Edwards.
If you’d like more information about how you can lend you support to this effort contact the ECT (right margin – near top) and we’ll tell you more about this conservation program.
