You Call this Representation?

By – Citizens who demand our Representatives “know what they’re talking about”.

Topic:  Gun Control Legislation

Dateline: Published on Apr 5, 2013

Who:  Denver’s Representative to the U.S. House of Representatives – Diana DeGette (D)

Independence Institute President Jon Caldara explains to U.S. Congresswoman Diana DeGette and others who might not understand, the misconception that gun magazines can only be used once. Rep. DeGette seems very confused about this according to the Denver Post

Even the liberal Denver Post – has called into question Rep. DeGette’s knowledge of Firearms and how they work…as a precursor to introducing legislation putting limits on magazines used by these firearms…

The ECT folks believe that (regardless of which side you are on) you have a right to expect your Representative in Congress know what they’re talking about.  The ECT folks also believe our elected so called “Representatives” should READ the proposed Legislation before voting on it.

  1. You all should write to the Denver Post reporter and thank her for presenting the facts. (

It is a astonishing thought (or somewhat concerning thought at the very least) that one of our lawmakers, who has been involved with gun control issues for years, knows next to nothing about the subject she speaks of.

Worse, she has the power by office to make laws we must abide by, while knowing extremely little on the very subject she is helping pass into law! Even her assistant, while attempting to correct Rep DeGette’s miss statement, proceeded to further demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge.

Our lawmakers simply cannot create laws we must follow if they do not know the basic facts on the subject before presenting said solutions.

  2. Ignorance can be temporary but stupid is forever, and you can’t fix stupid. Stupid is not illegal, but unfortunately it is clearly very electable, as Colorado Democrats demonstrate daily.

Every elected official in Colorado responsible for drafting, sponsoring, endorsing, voting for or otherwise supporting any of this anti-gun legislation have violated Article II, Section 13 of the Colorado Constitution, and should be removed from office and forever barred from public service.

No Colorado politician has the right to even question the right of citizens to keep and bear arms, let alone draft and pass legislation violating that right. None have the authority to call into question, let alone usurp any portion of any of our liberties.

Our Constitution is the law of the land. These politicians have all broken the law, which makes them criminals, therefore they must be treated as such.

“The right of no person to keep and bear arms in defense of his home, person and property, or in aid of the civil power when thereto legally summoned, shall be called in question…”
–Article II, Section 13, Constitution of the state of Colorado
