Old Glory – Back and Flying Again!

by   a very proud Jimmy Olsen – photography

Dateline:  Sunday, August 24th 2014

Old Glory is back up and flying again in Eagle County’s Mid-Valley.

OK – our chosen photo is a bit dated…however the lack of Wind and unseasonable August weather – did not give the ECT folks a good photo op – this past weekend!

The Bull Wheel (read: pulley) at the top of the Flag Pole has been replaced – and Old Glory was raised again…this at a cost to Avon developer Traer Creek of about 1/2 of what Avon’s new logo cost Avon Taxpayers (~$20,000.00 – and it’s true).  Local Contractors and a very tall crane were needed to complete the Flag Pole repair!

So – the next time you drive by the Wal~Mart and Home Depot on I-70 – take a look South over Eagle-Vail and ENJOY!

  1. That flag is absolutely breathtaking. I am so glad to see it back! It is even visible at night and from quite a distance away on I-70. Thank you Magnus Lindholm!
