What is CDOT doing – “paving” in the middle of the I-70 median in Eagle Vail?
Answer: CDOT is building an Interstate 70 “cross-over” to be used for the first time in Spring 2015 – after the Ski Resort closes – according the the CDOT District 3 Managers office.
Turns out – the I-70 Bridge (over the Eagle River) in Eagle Vail needs repair after being in service for well over (2) decades.
The CDOT plan is that one span of the I-70 Bridge will be complete closed while repairs are being made. Then when the first span’s repairs are complete the second span will be closed and repairs started on it.
The “cross-over” pavement in the I-70 Median is designed to move I-70 (east and westbound) traffic safely from one span to the other during construction next Spring.
So now you know – thanks to the fact that YOU read the ECT!
